🧾 What is a CPF and Why Do You Need One?

A CPF is a Brazilian tax ID number, kind of like a U.S. Social Security Number. It’s not just for taxes – you’ll need it for many things in Brazil, including:

• Booking domestic flights
• Opening a bank account
• Signing rental contracts
• Making online purchases
• Getting a SIM card
• Accessing some health services

Don’t worry — getting a CPF doesn’t mean you become a tax resident, unless you're living and working in Brazil long-term.

✅ Step 1: Fill Out the CPF Application Form Online

Go to this link: 👉https://servicos.receita.fazenda.gov.br/Servicos/CPF/InscricaoCpfEstrangeiro/default.asp

• Fill out your name, passport info, address in Brazil (it can be airbnb), email, and other requested info.

✅ Step 2: Go to Receita Federal (in Person)
